Privacy

Privacy
Updated 18 October 2026
Soultile is a non-profit project: photos become tiles of a shared picture. There is no account, no advertising, and nobody is tracked.
What we receive
- The photo you choose to send. Before sending, the app crops it square and makes it smaller; on the server it is re-encoded, which removes the GPS location and every other hidden detail (phone model, date).
- A random phone code created by the app. It is used only to show you your tiles and to limit uploads (3 a day). We store it encrypted; it is not linked to your name.
- Your internet address, encrypted, only to prevent abuse.
- The app language, to know how many languages the tiles come from.
Who looks at the photos
Every photo is seen by a person before it goes into the picture. Rejected photos are never published and are deleted within 30 days.
What is public
Approved photos are part of the picture on soultile.site and in the app, with no name. Anyone can zoom in and see a tile up close. Only the sender knows the code that leads to their tile. If your face is in the photo, it will be visible like everything else.
The photo belongs to everyone
By sending a photo you declare that you took it and you dedicate it to the public domain under CC0 1.0: you permanently waive, worldwide and to the fullest extent allowed by law, all copyright and related rights in the photo. Anyone, including LB26, may use, copy and show it, also outside Soultile, without payment and without crediting you. You cannot ask for payment or enforce rights over the photo. The waiver cannot be withdrawn.
If your face is in the photo, you agree to its publication in the picture. Data protection law still lets you ask for a photo showing your face to be removed from the picture.
Where the data is
On a server in Switzerland (METANET, Zurich). We do not sell it or share it with anyone.
Removing a tile
Write to info@soultile.site with the tile code: we remove it from the picture and delete the photo. You can also report a tile that breaks the rules.
Age
Anyone under 16 may take part only with a parent's permission.

Datenschutz
Aktualisiert am 18. Oktober 2026
Was wir erhalten
Was öffentlich ist
